How to apply makeup
Women wear makeup to feel better about themselves, as well as to look sensational. However, the wrong application of makeup can ruin the image, and actually turn off a guy from speaking with you. While we hate to think that we would be interested in a man that would not approach us because of our makeup it does happen. So whatever your reasons for wearing makeup you may want to follow a few of these make up tips below to learn how to apply the various substances.
The first part of applying makeup is the foundation. The foundation is going to act as a concealer for blemishes as well as other marks you would consider unsightly. Foundation is also going to cover over a few of the shallow wrinkles, but the in proper application of foundation can actually heighten any wrinkles you may have. The foundation needs to be the same color as your skin. A foundation that is too light or heavy will cause you to look a little odd. You also want the foundation to be smooth in application. On the checks, forehead, chin, and above the mouth you need to use an upstroke and a continuous motion. For the nose it is okay to sweep down. The up motion firms your skin, while a downward motion can actually cause it to wrinkle or sag later in life. You will need to make sure the foundation is light, and smooth in appearance. You will also want to use an eye concealer for underneath. The right color concealer can hide any bluish or black tint that you have. This concealer should be a little lighter than the foundation.
Once the foundation is in place you are ready to move on to the blush. The blush should be applied with a circular motion that is in an upsweep. To properly apply blush you will need to feel where your cheekbones are. You will need to know where your cheekbones are most prominent, and where they end, towards your nose. You entire cheek should not be covered with blush instead just the line of your cheekbones should be covered. You will need to have a sponge to help smooth away any excess blush. Again this should be an upwards motion. The blush needs to be a light application, in other words it should not make your cheeks appear overly rosy. The different types of skin of course will require different shades. For a darker individual a darker blush may be used, but fair skin can do with a light rose or pink that will not be pronounced.
Lipstick or lip gloss as many of us have been using of late should be a similar color to the blush. Again depending on your skin you want something that will complete the picture rather than stand out. A lip gloss often adds a shiny finish to your lips without much color. This can be perfect. Make sure that if you do have lipstick you blot the color with a tissue.
