Eye Makeup Tips

Eye makeup or eye shadow is typically where a woman goes wrong when applying makeup. It also of course depends on your particular style. There are many styles of how to wear makeup out there, but if you prefer a more natural look you will want to try the methods outlined below. Even this method allows for artistic design. In other words you can apply the makeup the same way, but use a different eye shadow.

First for a natural look the colors often used will be pinks or light purples. This allows the natural colors of our eyes to be predominant. Of course for those who like a little spirit there are blacks, greys, blues, greens, and all the colors of the rainbow to choose from. The amount of eye shadow you use is going to be important with a natural look. For a more startling appearance you can certainly increase the shade as well as the amount of eye shadow you use.

When applying eye makeup you will want to have two to three colors. I find this method works best with three. You have a light shade, medium shade, and then a darker shade. The light shade is going to be applied to the eyelid. You can cover the eyelid completely as well as create a little wing on the corner of your eye, or you can cover just half the lid as you blend it with your natural color. This method tends to accentuate the shape of the eye with a softer method. For those who wish to have a more prominent appearance, for instance having someone notice your eyes before other aspects, you may want to try the wing and full coverage. Once the light shade has been applied you are ready for the medium shade.

Eye makeupThis shade will be applied to the skin under your eyebrow. For this you will need to raise your eyebrow and apply the brush to that hollow area. Again you can cover the entire area or leave half uncovered as the color dissipates towards your nose. This medium color offers a higher look to the eyes and of course is meant to bring out your eye color. The third shade needs to be applied in the crease between eyelid and eyebrow. It should be applied in a dark thin line, so that when you blink you see all three colors, and you have accentuated your eye perfectly.

Eye makeup is not just eye shadow. You also have eyeliner. The eyeliner if you choose to use it can be applied to both the bottom and top of your eyelids. Most prefer to accentuate the bottoms of their eyes. The eyeliner should be a thin dark line. Then you are ready to apply eyelash mascara. Mascara should be smooth and offer longer lashes. It should in no way be thick and stuck together. With some individuals they have naturally long lashes so it is used as an enhancement to make them a little darker. You also have various shades of eyeliner and mascara to offer a distinctive look.
