Applying Lipstick or Lip Gloss

Makeup is not complete without having the finishing touches such as mascara and lipstick. There are not many ways to apply lipstick or lip gloss, but the method does bare a few make up tips for proper application. First you must choose the lipstick or lip gloss you are going to use. The wrong color can completely destroy the rest of the look you have.

lipsTo determine the color of the lipstick you should refer to your seasonal colors. For a lighter skinned individual a simple light color is more beneficial than an outrageous red. While part of the whole makeup idea is that you are noticed, you don’t want your lips to be overly noticed because of the wrong lipstick. Instead of the guy thinking, wow what beauty, your chances are much better that he is going to avoid you, and your ostentatious lips. This of course is not every case, but from the majority of movies, experiences, and other articles the natural look has been getting more notice over extremely red lips.

There are two methods of applying a lipstick. You can apply a lip liner first or forgo the lip liner. Either method will help you accentuate your lips. If you choose to use a lip liner you will need to have a slightly darker color than that actual lipstick. This offers the outline of your lips to be filled in with the lipstick. Many women prefer this method. The lip liner needs to be expertly applied to the contours of your lips. It should be a thin line that has no break. In other words make sure that you take the line down from the top line to meet the bottom line of your lip. You also want to make sure that you have actually gotten the lip line rather than going out of bounds either way. Once the liner is applied you will take a downward motion from the top of your lip to the bottom on both sides. In other words start in the middle and work your way down. On the bottom lip you can start in the middle or start on one side and move to the other. Make sure again that you have not gone out of bounds.

Once the lipstick has been applied you will need to blot your lips on a tissue. This helps make the lipstick appear more natural as well as smooth. Forgoing the blotting method will make the lipstick appear heavier than it should. With lip gloss you don’t have to be as concerned. Lip gloss is the most natural accentuation you can use on your lips. You will find that it just adds a hint of color and sparkly. In this case lip gloss is not designed to enhance the lips, but rather to make them a little festive, and appear wet. The sparkle and shimmer makes your lips appear more moist than any lipstick, which of course adds to the sexiness of your overall appearance.
